Bloomsbury Canning Factory
Bloomsbury, Hunterdon County, NJ

Unsent, undated post card.
Unknown photographer.

Special thanks to Craig Hoffman for sharing this post card with us.

Notation on back indicates it was located on North Street, and later became a silk mill, and then the [Koh-I-Nor] pencil factory.

The Portrait and Biographical Record of Warren and Hunterdon Counties, New Jersey, 1898 (pages 536 and 537), states that John W. Dehart "is the president of the Bloomsbury Canning Company, which, in 1897, canned two hundred thousand cans of peaches and sixty thousand cans of tomatoes.  This is one of the young industries of the place and is rapidly gaining prominence."
